Our Club's History

The Western Australian Film and Video Club Inc. was established in 1944 to promote the art of movie making for amateur 8mm and 16mm enthusiast. Gradually the use of film as an amateur movie making medium has dropped away as first analogue and the now digital technology has increasingly become the preferred movie making medium.

Whilst the technology has evolved and continues to change at a dramatic rate, the creative objectives of the Club have essentially remained the same.
